NBA Finals Game 5

The Boston Celtics won game 5 of the NBA Finals 106-88 and clinched their NBA record 18th Championship.  Man, did I love typing that sentence.  So, part of me wanted to write this Monday night after the game and just let it be everything I was feeling and thinking at the moment but I decided to wait and let everything sink in.  Usually when I write any article, 5 minutes later I think of a bunch of stuff I should have put in it.  I didn’t want that to happen to this one.  I wanted to take my time and get it a right as I could.  So let’s talk about the 2024 NBA Champion Boston Celtics.

NBA Finals Game 3

The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-99 in game three of the NBA Finals.  The Celtics now lead the series 3-0 and are well on their way to hanging Banner 18 in the rafters of the Boston Garden.  The only question left may be if they will sweep the Mavs and have to celebrate on the road or if Dallas can salvage a game and let the Celtics celebrate in front of their home town fans.

NBA Finals Game 2

The Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.  This was a bad loss for the Mavericks as the night’s when the Celtics can’t throw the ball in the ocean are the night’s you are supposed to beat them.  Failing to do so, even in Boston, can really come back to hurt Dallas’ chances.  With that said, it’s great that the Celtics are up 2-0 but this series is far from over.  The old saying goes “a series doesn’t stop until the home team loses”.  So far, all the Celtics have done is hold serve.  I like their chances to finish this off, but it’s anything but a foregone conclusion.

NBA Final’s Game 1

The Boston Celtics won game one of the NBA Finals in what wasn’t a particularly competitive game.  Everyone played well for the Green Team as they cruised to a victory.  It is only one game of seven but the Celtics got off to the best start they could have hoped for.

Boston Celtics Play-Off Preview

The NBA regular season has come to an end and the play-offs are set to begin.  The Play In tournament is set to begin Tuesday.  The Celtics had a hell of a regular season and have reached the end pretty damn healthy and ready to make a run at Banner 18.  They finished the season with a 64-18 record.  Tops in the East by a hefty 14 games.  They lead the league by 7 games.  They were second in the league in points per game and were 5th in opponents points per game.  They lead the league with a +11 scoring differential which was 4 points higher than the second place team.   They had three guys, Tatum, Brown, and Porzingis, all average over 20 a game with Tatum leading the way at 26.9 per.  Their other two starters averaged 15 and 12.5.  Their 8 man rotation was rounded out by Pritchard, Houser and Horford who averaged 9.6, 9.0, and 8.6 respectfully.  They had more 30 point leads than they had 10 point deficits.  This team is good.  Very good.
