World Series Game 4

There will be a game 5. Here are my running thoughts for game 4. If the Yankees make history this will go down in history as the Volpe game.

World Series Game 3

Just like last game, here are my running thoughts as I watched the New York Yankees take on the Trolly Dodgers from LA. Did you know that that’s where “Dodgers” comes from? They were originally the Brooklyn Trolly Dodgers. Well, now you know. Anyways, here we go…

World Series Game 2

So, I decided I would “live tweet” my thoughts while watching Game 2 of the Worlds Series. Except I didn’t tweet my thoughts, I wrote them down and will be putting them here. I wish I thought of this before Game 1. I’ll probably do this for the rest of the Series. Here’s what went through my head during the game.

Update From Yankee Land

It has been exactly a month so we are long over due for a trip down to Yankee Land.  A lot has happened since last we visited, some good, some bad.  We will get into all of it but first I would like to personally thank the Baltimore Orioles for not running away with the division.  I can’t say for sure they did not bet on the Yankees to win the East.  As we stand of this writing the Yankees and Baltimore are tied atop the AL East.  The Yankees are 6 games ahead of the Red Sox who are the first team out of the playoffs.  Their Magic number to secure a playoff spot is down to 35.  Let’s get into how we got here.

Update From Yankee Land

It has been another fortnight so it’s time to head back down to Yankee Land and see what’s going on with the Bronx Bombers.  Well, it hasn’t been good.  The free fall continues for the Yanks and things don’t look like they are turning around.  If there was ever a team that needed an All-Star break it is this one.  Well, let’s get into it.

Update From Yankee Land

It’s been another fortnight since we last checked in with the New York Yankees.  It’s another Monday off day and there’s a lot going on right now so let’s head back down to Yankee Land and see what’s happening with the Bronx Bombers.  Since we last checked in the Yankees have gone 13-6 and are now 50-24 on the season.  Baltimore refuses to lose baseball games and has moved back into a tie for first place after the Yankees went into Boston and dropped two of three.  The Yankees are tied with Baltimore and the Dodgers for the best record in baseball (the Yanks have played and won 3 more games than the others two) but things are getting a bit shaky for the Boys in Pinstripes.  Let’s dive in.

Update From Yankee Land

With today’s off day, I figured it was a great time to head on down to Yankee Land and catch up with the Bronx Bombers.  Since we last checked in, the Yankees have gone 12-4 and just had a 4-game winning streak snapped by the San Diego Padres.  They now stand at 37-18 and are tied with Baltimore for 1st place in the AL East (remember only thing that matters is the loss column).  The team has been rolling of late.  So lets dive in.

Update from Yankee Land

I feel it is time for another Update from Yankee Land.  Since the last time we looked in on the Bronx Bombers they have gone 8-5 and now stand 11 games over .500.  They are currently on a 4-game winning streak heading into today’s action but have fallen to one game behind the Orioles for first place in the AL East.  They seem to be righting the ship in a lot of areas as they recover from their late April slump.  Let’s look at where things stand 37 games into the season.

Update From Yankee Land

It’s time for an Update from Yankee Land.  After their hot start, the Yankees have come down to earth a bit.  Now tied  for first place in the loss column (the only column that matters) with Baltimore for the AL East, the Yankees have some issues that need to be solved.  Lets look at what’s been going well for the Bronx Bombers and what needs to get better if they want to stay atop the standings.

Yankees Spring Training Observations

Spring Training has ended and the new season is about to begin.  The New York Yankees are about to launch their latest march toward winning their 28th World Series.  But before we embark on this 6 month, 162 game marathon of ups and downs, wins and losses, highlights and low lights we call a baseball season, let’s look back at all that happened in Florida this spring and see where the team stands.
