NBA Finals Game 3

The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-99 in game three of the NBA Finals.  The Celtics now lead the series 3-0 and are well on their way to hanging Banner 18 in the rafters of the Boston Garden.  The only question left may be if they will sweep the Mavs and have to celebrate on the road or if Dallas can salvage a game and let the Celtics celebrate in front of their home town fans.

NBA Finals Game 2

The Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.  This was a bad loss for the Mavericks as the night’s when the Celtics can’t throw the ball in the ocean are the night’s you are supposed to beat them.  Failing to do so, even in Boston, can really come back to hurt Dallas’ chances.  With that said, it’s great that the Celtics are up 2-0 but this series is far from over.  The old saying goes “a series doesn’t stop until the home team loses”.  So far, all the Celtics have done is hold serve.  I like their chances to finish this off, but it’s anything but a foregone conclusion.

Down On The Farm

I did not realize how long it has been since I did one of these.  It’s been way too long.  I really have to make it a more regular column.  With that said, it is time to check in with the boys down on the farm.  The Yankees minor leaguers who may not necessarily be their top prospects but are the ones I have chosen to follow this season.  I have actually added a couple of guys to the list from the last time.  We will stat with the five guys from the last column.

The Boston Celtics won game one of the NBA Finals in what wasn’t a particularly competitive game.  Everyone played well for the Green Team as they cruised to a victory.  It is only one game of seven but the Celtics got off to the best start they could have hoped for.

This and That

It’s that time again.  Time for another brand spanking new edition of my World Famous This and That column.  This version of the column is going to be heavily concerned with the New York Yankees and the San Fransisco 49ers.  There just happens to be a ton going on with these two teams right now.  So without further ado or gilding the lily, lets get into it.

Update From Yankee Land

With today’s off day, I figured it was a great time to head on down to Yankee Land and catch up with the Bronx Bombers.  Since we last checked in, the Yankees have gone 12-4 and just had a 4-game winning streak snapped by the San Diego Padres.  They now stand at 37-18 and are tied with Baltimore for 1st place in the AL East (remember only thing that matters is the loss column).  The team has been rolling of late.  So lets dive in.

A Brief Preview of The Eastern Conference Finals

The Boston Celtics finally begin their Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Indiana Pacers.  The Celtics are big favorites to win this series but I think a lot of people are over looking the Pacers.  Here is a quick preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.
