Game 1 did not go the way the Yankees wanted it to go. Today is game 2. Let’s hope it goes better than last game and the Yankees can get back on track. As always, these are my unedited thoughts as they happen.

–Pregame

   —Game 1 wasn’t as bad as it seemed. If Vlady doesn’t make the diving double play it’s a completely different game.  

    —As I mentioned in game 3 against the Sox, the Yankees don’t usually hit well against pitchers they never seen before. They got to Early second time through. But that was in Yankee Stadium. We’ll see how they do today.

–Top 1

    —Let’s see how bad Boone can screw this one up.

    —Really, really wish they would bat Judge 3rd

    —It pains me that Donny Baseball is in the Toronto dug out and not the Yankees dug out.

    —Good start fellas. He said sarcastically 

–Bottom 1

    —I hate the Fox strike zone. Like why even bother.

    —Toronto doesn’t need to get lucky too.

    —The Yanks gett8ng double plays all game like they did against the Sox would be very nice.  

–Top 2

    —I really may have to start watching these games on mute.

    —That’s the one you gotta hit

–Bottom 2

    —Did Vasho just play with his junk?  

    —OK, limit it to one

    —So much for that.

    —Can’t be giving this up to the non star guys.  

    —I am so glad the Yankees don’t have some stupid home run prop.  

    —Not awful.

–Top 3

    —How about hitting now? Maybe

    —The hanging one at the top of the zone is the splitter they need to hit.

    —OK second time through. You all have seen him. Start hitting.

    —Probably not a good strategy to swing at the ones in the dirt and take the ones in the strike zone

–Bottom 3

    —Weird, when Fried throws a fastball middle middle not only do the Blue Jays swing. But they actually hit it.  

    —Just what the Yankees need. Kirk up in a huge spot.

    —Get someone warming

    —Max Fried looks like someone but I can’t place it. Bl

    —Do they have any relievers besides Cruz??

–Top 4

    —Hit the baseball

    —Took the one strike he threw and struck out. 

    —Gotta swing at the high one.   

–Bottom 4

    —Guess we’re forfeiting.

    —The other guitar player from the Band. Not Robbie Robertson. That might be who Fried looks like.

    —The Blue Jays have tried to get the top free agent in both of the last two off seasons. What is this idiot talking about?

    —It’s about freaking time.  

    —And now he brings in a guy who is a starter into an inning with guys on base. This worked so well with Nester Cortez last season.  

    —Look at that. Same result.

    —Well, Warren now needs to throw 100 pitches no matter what. I know they are off tomorrow but bullpen innings add up.  

    —Also, he should throw at Vlady the next time up. He’s way to comfy at the plate.

–Top 5

    —Well, get some damn hits and see if they can’t get going for the rest of the series.

    —See, hit the high one.

    —Seriously, If Volpe just worked on his pitch selection he would be a .300 hitter.  

–Bottom 5

    —Just keep eating innings kid

–Top 6

    —Kid was throwing a no hitter.

    —Can definitely build some confidence here heading into game 3

    —Stanton getting going would be huge.

    —Hey, they got Vladdy out. 

    —Should Vladdy have 1 D or 2 Ds? I think it looks better with one. I’m going back to 1.

    —How’d you like to be Kiner-Falefa? Your team has 13 runs and you’re 0 for 4. 

–Top 7

    —Another excellent day by the home plate umpire.  

    —Aaand that pitch was low. Jinxed it.

    —Would love a “Mo Vaughn” home run here. Make his post season stats look better.  

    —I’ll take it. 

    —Rice getting could be big. 2 straight hits. Carry that into next game.  

    —Here come the Yankees

    —Yankees may have to make a pitching change here. They really will if Jazz goes yard.

–Bottom 7

    —Probably won’t finish off comeback but have to hold them at 13. Give the offence what little chance they have. Plus keep making Toronto use their high end relievers.

–Top 8

    —Let’s see how interesting they can make this

    —So much for that.  

–Bottom 8

    —Sure, now the Jays are just hitting pop ups.  

    —It may not seem it but that was great work by Warren. Way to take one for the team and save the bullpen.  

    —Perfect spot for Weaver.

–Top 9

    —Good for Judge to stay disciplined and take the walk. Though he did take a belt high fastball over the plate.

    —Well, they won their home games, now the Yankees need to win their home games.
