It’s deja vu all over agin. So here we are. It’s win or go home for the Yankees. They’re gonna have to score more runs to advance. Their pitching is going to have to keep them in the game. And they have tonrake advantage of every opportunity they get. If you’re new here, these are my unedited thoughts in real time during the game. No edits or changes aside from fixing type-Os as I suck at typing on my phone.  

–Pregame

    —Yankees vs Red Sox winner take all. Nothing better in all of sports. Nothing. 

    —Stop me if you heard this one, the Yankees need to hit. They need to score runs.  

    —Yankees usually don’t hit guys they never seen before. Could be a tough night.

    —How Boone handles Schlittler will be big. My guess is he pulls him after 4 no matter what. That means bullpen game and that means trouble for the Yanks.  

    —Bednar never should have pitched in game 1. Now if he is needed tonight it will be 3 straight days which the Yankees never do with their relievers.  

    —6pm starts are so much better than 8 pm starts.  

–Top 1

    —Here we go

    —Schlittler has a chance the be a very good pitcher. He’s not there yet but with a little refinement, he can get there.  

    —Let the guys with the real glove catch the ball.  

    —Only cost Schlittler 2 pitches so, not a big mistake.

–Bottom 1

    —I like this line up. Dance with who brought yo. It goes righty lefty righty lefty so no big holes and no easy bullpen moves for Sox.

    —The Sox picture must save so much money on razors

    —Not the start we’re looking for.  

–Top 2

    —I called that Aaron Boone home run. Just FYI.  

    —Have to get ahead. Can’t pitch from behind and let the batters have the advantage.

    —Schlittler needs to develop a change up. Change up down and away and Lowe will swing twice at it.

    —Kid looks totally under control. Even after giving up the hit. That’s a good sign.

–Bottom 2

    —Playoff Stanton showing up would be real nice

    —Wow, I really thought that was gone. Like I thought it left. It was like an optical illusion.

    —Gotta get this run in. Can’t squander men in scoring position.

    —Hey, Oswaldo!

    —Can’t even get him to 3rd.

    —I can see trying to catch Stanton getting too far off sec9nd because he has to get a big secondary lead to score in a hit but they are paying way too much attention to him.  

    —That’s one squandered opportunity.

–Top 3

    —I hope the guy in the Marlins jersey us washing it between games.

    —OK l, sec9nd time through. Now the Sox have seen him, lets see how he does.  

    —Pitch count is high but so far so good.

–Bottom 3

    —Lets score some runs!!

    —Just noticed Volpe with the ’90s era turtleneck. Gotta love it. I’m sure others have it on too.

    —Early’s pitch count is nice and low.  

–Top 4

    —I am still scared of Bregman. He’s gonna get at least one more big hit

    —Schlittler really needs an out pitch

    —Nice quick inning

–Bottom 4

    —Great hustle by Belli. How did that not get caught???

    —Again Stanton just missing a middle middle fast ball.   

    —Good AB. Great take. Ump has been giving pitchers that corner all game. Nice of him to not ring him up there in the pitch inside.  

    —2 on no outs. Need some runs!!!

    —Rice needs to learn to take the breaking ball away to left field.

    —Rosario!!! 

    —Belli hustling to second looms large

    —Gotta get the run in from 3rd. A sac fly would be huge here.

    —Tony Fox!!!

    —He had the quick hook for Bello but left this kid in. Is he channeling Aaron Boone??

    —If Jimmy Fallon was a real Yankee fan he wouldn’t have made a movie about being a Red Sox fan.

    —Need a shut down inning here. Let them think about those 4 runs.

    —A quick inning here would be huge.  

    —Nice play by Volpe. Jazz has to get his throws up. But not too far up.  

    —Let him start the 7th. Have someone warming but let him start the inning

    —Let’s tack on a few. Game is far from over.

    —I was waiting for Story to air mail one. Have to make it hurt now.  

    —Ugh. Have to take advantage of the breaks.

    —How many pop ups. Most of them on the infield.

    —What a freaking outing!!!!! Cannot waste it.

    —A nice 6 spot here wouldn’t hurt anyone.  

    —Weissert, another x-Yankee on this Red Sox club.   

    —Don’t need Belli being hurt.

    —This has me nervous

    —McMahon didn’t need that nasty slider

    —I don’t know what the Sox did but Chapman finding his control is huge for them.

    —Really wish they would have scored more runs.

    —Really wish Bednar didn’t pitch in the first game.

    —What a difference going from Schlittlers straight gas to Bednars junk.  

    —Smart move by Volpe to not try to force it.
