So, I decided I would “live tweet” my thoughts while watching Game 2 of the Worlds Series. Except I didn’t tweet my thoughts, I wrote them down and will be putting them here. I wish I thought of this before Game 1. I’ll probably do this for the rest of the Series. Here’s what went through my head during the game.
–Still wondering why Nester after a month off and not 100%? Tim Hill has been so good. Why put Nester in that situation?
–What’s with the freaking rap concert?? Why do they lie about the start time? I could have watched more of the Bruins game.
–He should have sung Dope Man. Better song
–Top 1–
–Torres has been great as a leadoff hitter. Wonder what team he will be leading off for next season.
–Whenever Judge calls time out in an AB he reaches down and picks something up and throws it.
–Gotta score some runs. Can’t play tight games every night. Mets lit this team up. Yanks need to do same.
–Bottom 1st–
–Rodon is gonna give up a homer at some point. Let’s hope there is no one on base when he does.
–I fear Teoscar Hernandez as much as anyone in this line up and that’s saying something. Just remember him as a Yankee killer.
–Top 2–
–Maybe the Jesus people should use the millions of dollars they spend on advertising on actually helping people. Just and idea.
–Gotta say the Dodgers hats are a great classic look. Especially when they don’t have the patches on them. Their whole uniform really, if they weren’t covered in logos.
–Tommy Edman looks like Oreal Hershiser
–Wells is just all out of sorts. It hurts but the Yankees should be able to handle one bad bat in their lineup.
–Bottom 2–
–There it is. First home run given up by Rodon. At least it was a solo shot.
–Rodon’s 0-2 fastballs have all been above the catchers head. Just a waste if a pitch. Though I much rather him miss up than down.
–Nice play by Rodon on the swinging bunt.
–Top 3rd–
–Didn’t the guy from the Liberty Mutual commercials get fired like 4 commercials ago? How can you trust a company if they lie to you in their commercials?
–I’m gonna jinx it but I really like the home plate umps strike zone in this one. Yesterday’s guy was awful.
–Did Not think Soto’s homer was gonna stay fair. It’s not easy to keep a ball that far inside fair.
–Really should have signed Soto before the playoffs started.
–Yanks really need one rally. An inning with a handful of hits and more than 1 or 2 runs. Really get something going.
–Bottom 3rd–
–Dave Roberts looks more and more like Droopy Dog every day.
–The Dodgers hit celebration may be going a little too far. Dial that back a bit.
–That one wasn’t a solo shot. And what did I tell you about Teoscar?? Certified Yankee killer
–I think you can go get him now.
–No really, go get him!
–This would have been a great time to use Nester as a long man and save the bullpen. Oh well.
–Rodon could not give up a run the rest of his career and I will still never trust him.
–Top 4–
–Yankees really need to start putting some hits together.
–There was a time when hitting the ball up the middle meant you got a hit. That was a good 150 years.
–Bottom 4–
–Why is Rodon still out there?!?!?
–OK, I don’t mind keeping Rodon out just to face the lefty.
–I just noticed even the Umpires have their numbers on their belts.
–Top 5–
–It’s down on the list but one of the many, many things I hate about streaming live sports is when they play the same commercial 4 or 5 times in a row. So annoying.
–Just more of the same from bottom of Yanks lineup. It’d be cool if the top if the line up could ever bat with guys on base.
–Bottom 5–
–I have changed couches, maybe that will help.
–Hey look Tim Hill. And he got Freeman out. Who would have guessed it?!?
–Top 6–
–For the love of Yogi Berra can we get a rally going?!?!
–Yankees think too much when they bat. Really hurts their pitch selection.
–Changing my seat hasn’t helped.
–Bottom 6–
–Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that everyone in the Wegovy commercial is still fat?
–Want to know a funny thing about Max Muncy? There is another player in the minors also named Max Muncy. He plays shortstop in the As system. What are the odds of two pro baseball players named Max Muncy.
–They are showing the Celebrities in the crowd in LA. It sucks that big time Dodgers fan Alyssa Milano is actually in NY doing a play on Broadway. Hopefully she will get to catch a game or two when they head to the Bronx.
–Can you tell I am running out of things to say about this game?
–Top 7–
–It would be great for the Yanks to actually get a hit or two this inning. Just for fun.
–Having 4 of the last 5 hitters in your lineup be left-handed really makes things easy for a team that only has 2 lefties on their roster.
–Really no reason to take Yamamoto out. If they were the Yankees, it would come back to haunt them.
–Bottom 7–
–That could be very bad for Ohtani. Might just be a stinger but might not be. Did not look good.
–Top 8–
–Any time now guys
–Shoulder for Ohtani is much better than elbow.
–Maybe if the Yanks let Verdugo wear more gold chains he would hit? It’s worth a shot at this point.
–Bottom 8–
–The organist just played The Trooper by Iron Maiden. Best part of the game so far.
–I don’t know what Mark Leiter did during the 2 weeks or so he had off but it seems to have worked. Might be worth having on the team next season. I would not have said that when the regular season ended.
–Top 9–
–Back-to-back to back?? Pretty please.
–Soto with a single to right. I think I’ll wet my pants.
–I’m kind of sad Giancarlo hit something that wasn’t a home run. It was cool that all his hits were long balls.
–The Yankees hit breaking balls like I do. Maybe we need to get Joboo on the job.
–Not dead yet.
–If nothing else, the end of these games are exciting.
–My ribs hurt watching Rizzo get hit
–That was the pitch
–Now would have been a great time to have a right-handed hitter on the bench.
–Trevinio only option. Here we go.
–I am so surprised that didn’t work.
–Well, a series doesn’t start until the home team loses, right. In ’96 they lost the first two at home and came back to win. Hopefully a day off will get their bats going. Somehow.
